Greetings to everyone!
Thank you all for your continued financial and prayer support, which is MOST
precious to me!
Here are some PRAISE & PRAYER ITEMS FOR YOU:
- May Kelly's short visit: She's the one who looked after me for the year I was
in Calgary for my eye surgeries. It was great to see her back in France again.
We visited a mutual friend in Poitiers, which was lovely. She's now back in
Calgary.
- The Hellands, with their 4 teenagers were with me for 4 days. They were
evacuated from Chad in Feb., but since their mission has decided not to allow
missionaries to return until October, they have continued on to the States.
Several of our TEAM missionaries are now on furlough as well, including Mary
Stone. If you're following the news, you will know that things continue to be
fairly tense in the country, so your continued prayers are most appreciated.
-Weekly English lessons with Jessyka...a young mother of 3 little girls from
Lavausseau. Her husband Matthieu is of Korean origin, so they are attracted to
our Korean Christians. We are fast becoming friends.
- Mamie Marty (pronounced like "mummie", and is the French endearment
for "grandma"). Her first name is Irma, but at 97, one would never
call her that! I visit her each Monday and Friday afternoon. She's very bright
and always finds the 2 hours go too fast. She seems much more sure now of
Heaven, for which I praise the Lord. Please keep her in your prayers, and pray
that her son (73) who doesn't live all that far away, will come back to see her.
We're not sure why the separation.
- Praise the Lord for several people who have returned after a voluntary absence
of some months. There is still one dear family yet to return, or at least
explain why they're not coming.
- Jean-Paul celebrated his 70th birthday yesterday (a surprise party put on by
his family). He's such an evangelist at heart, and at one moment had all his
grandkids (teens and upwards, except for a 9 yr old) get around him, where he
proceeded to give them a "blessing" from God's Word. English
neighbours sitting across from me asked me "Whatever did Jean-Paul say to
make Wilfred cry?" Actually, all the young people were crying...it was a
very emotional time for them all, probably because J-P is also a very severe
diabetic, so the future isn't too clear. What a blessing!
- May 10-12 Marianne, Catherine, Serge and I will be travelling to the East of
France to attend our denominations annual Congress. I'm looking forward to that.
Tom Blanchard, TEAM France missionary will be the guest speaker!
- Presentation of 3 children next Sunday, one of them is my "Korean
grandson". i'm sorry I won't be here for it, but it's possible that Jessyka
and family will be, so pray for the testimony of these three families.
- Three people plan to be baptized on May 18 (including Maryvonne who the DPBC
ladies have been praying for!). There will be a fellowship meal afterwards. Pray
for any non-Christians who may be present.
God bless
Fran
